EcoVadis Methodology

EcoVadis offers a comprehensive sustainability rating methodology designed to assess the quality of a company’s sustainability management system. This assessment focuses on three critical management pillars: Policies, Actions and Results. To accurately evaluate a company’s impact, EcoVadis customises its assessment framework based on the activities, size and operational location of each company. The framework encompasses 21 sustainability criteria derived from international Sustainable Development standards. From these, EcoVadis selects the relevant criteria tailored to each company’s specific challenges and geographical context.

Expert analysts apply strict scoring guidelines to each assessment, providing a score that allows companies to benchmark their sustainability performance against industry peers. This score also places the company’s sustainability performance in an absolute context. The EcoVadis Scorecard highlights both strengths and improvement areas for each theme. Strengths represent effective sustainability practices, while improvement areas suggest where corrective actions are needed, each with a recommended priority level.

Medals & Badges

EcoVadis awards medals and badges to companies that complete the assessment process and demonstrate strong sustainability management systems. These accolades are based on a company’s percentile rank, which compares its performance with all rated companies in the EcoVadis database over the past 12 months. To qualify for a medal, a company must score a minimum of 30 in each of the four themes: Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement. Ampito has been awarded a Bronze Medal which is awarded to companies in the top 35% of companies assessed.

EcoVadis is trusted by approximately 750 multinational enterprises, representing over 47,000 procurement and sustainability professionals, to assess and monitor their global supplier base or selected business partners. As of the end of 2022, the EcoVadis database includes over 90,000 companies spanning 175 countries and 200 industries, showcasing its extensive reach and influence in promoting sustainable business practices globally.
